our mission

Qualia delivers relevant professional development to forward-thinking institutions and innovative educators to foster compassion, deliver culturally relevant lessons, develop youth leadership, and grow inclusive communities.  We center our practice around anti-bias anti-racism, healing, inclusion, belonging, and equity.

Qualia envisions all members of  communities cultivating inclusive attitudes and antiracist practices, building equitable structures and fair systems, and embarking on personal and institutional progress for a more democratic and pluralistic society that draws from a variety of perspectives and experiences to solve shared problems.  

With over 30 years of collective experience in a variety of schools, Qualia Consultants help institutions audit their structures, systems, and practices to ensure improved culture and greater degrees of equity across all programs.

Our consultants will work with you to assemble a suitable action plan to:

  • Design student orientation and after-school programs that focus on Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equity.

  • Facilitate Critical Conversations about Race, Class, and Gender with faculty and students.

  • Offer Presentations, Workshops, and Trainings on

    • Race & Racism,

    • Micro-Aggressions & Implicit Bias

    • Male Privilege & Toxic Masculinity

    • Gender Identity, Sexism & Transphobia,

    • Sexual Orientation & Homophobia,

    • “Yes-means-Yes” Consent Education.

  • Provide Individualized Coaching and Antiracist Mentoring for teachers, administrators, and counselors.

  • Assess Disciplinary and Behavioral systems and Incorporate Restorative Practices and Processes.

  • Review Pedagogy, Instruction, and Curriculum to ensure

    • Cultural Sensitivity,

    • Race and Gender Representation,

    • Diverse Perspectives.

  • Craft Surveys, Conduct Interviews, Observations of Programs, Collect and Analyze Data from school community or organization.

  • Organize Youth Leaders and After-School Affinity Groups.

  • Conduct a Comprehensive Equity Audit of

    • Organizational Structures

    • Community Culture

    • Classroom Inclusion
